Biography

Dr Eric Ji is a radiation oncologist at Bowen Icon Cancer Centre, offering both in-person and virtual consultations to support accessible and flexible care for patients across the region.

A Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR), Dr Ji completed his medical degree at the University of Auckland followed by specialist training radiation oncology across major centres in Auckland, Wellington, and Palmerston North.

Alongside his role at Icon, Dr Ji is a consultant radiation oncologist and RANZCR director of training for radiation oncology at Health New Zealand | Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley, and is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Otago. He is actively involved in registrar & medical student education, curriculum development, and clinical teaching, reflecting his strong commitment to advancing cancer care and medical training in New Zealand.

Dr Ji provides comprehensive radiation therapy for a broad range of solid tumour malignancies, specialising in advanced techniques such as stereotactic radiotherapy and Linac-based radiosurgery, alongside the use of HyperArc technology for complex cranial cases. He has a dedicated clinical focus on brain and spine (CNS) tumours, including gliomas, glioblastomas, and benign conditions such as meningiomas and schwannomas. His expertise further extends to the management of head and neck cancer, genitourinary cancers (including prostate, bladder, and kidney), and skin cancers.
