Find a spot on your home that has good, reliable internet access.
Ideally it should be a quiet location with minimal background noise or distractions.
Consider your privacy and comfort. You may want to find a private, comfortable location where you will not be disturbed.
Before you start your appointment, tell others in your home that you are having a telehealth appointment so that they do not disturb you.
If you have young children, ask someone to supervise them during your appointment. If this is not possible, set up an activity to occupy them.
Turn off your television, radio or turn other devices to silent so you won’t be distracted.
Make sure the device you are using is well charged. Keep a charger close by in case.
Ensure you have all the necessary medical information or notes about what you want to discuss with your doctor close by.

Get comfortable before you start.
Talk into or in the direction of the microphone on your device.
Talk to your doctor exactly as if you are talking to them in person.
You can ask as many questions as you need to during the call.
